Anti Authoritarian Activists Shut Down British Embassy -Stockholm

from I-Mad! - 09.11.2004 16:54

Anti Authoritarian Activists in Stockholm shut down the british embassy for an hour this morning. Employees were forced to use back doors to enter, as many were stranded inside.

The action was in response to war crimes in Fallujah, as British occupation forces covered the gap for American occupation forces giving them sapce to attack Fallujah. It is more of a call to more actions and disruptions of the governments of power where ever they are.

Stay posted as there is more to come.

"Are you o.k. inside?"

Fallujah is Bleeding, stop the killing.

On the morning of the ninth of November, 2004; 9 anti-authoritarian activists engaged in a non-violent direct action to blockade the entrance to the British Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden. The action came in response to the recent and ongoing slaughter in Fallujah committed by the American occupation forces under the continuous support of the British ones.

British troops - engaged in human and environmental rights violations in Iraq and committing countless crimes against humanity, moved to cover the place of the American occupation forces heading to Fallujah. The British troops are not only part of this ongoing war and brutalisation but also a solid supporter and an integral part of the invasion of Fallujah. The action was intended as a disruption of the embassy and to shed the light on the British involvement in this plot. Those people don't seem to get much of the shit hitting the fan; maybe we should start giving them more of our TLC. The US administration needed the British support, without which this ongoing crime stood no chance.

We arrived to the British embassy at 9 a.m. just when the employees were about to start arriving. We took the front door and locked ourselves to each other using metal chains and bicycle locks, we had a banner translating to "Fallujah is Bleeding" written in Swedish with the name of Fallujah written in Arabic under it. We locked down with one aim, to blockade and siege the embassy for half an hour. We expected the police to arrive within five minutes at the most and remove us in around ten minutes... it was an embassy after all, let alone being the British one. Till that minute we had no one approaching us; employees (yes few of them were actually at their desks ahead of time, unbelievable losers!!!) inside the embassy looked at us through the glass as their colleagues stood outside waiting for the instructions of the security guard... who stood there clueless. Our message was clear, we were there to stay no matter what. Once again we over estimated their intelligence, yet once again we were winning.

A guard tried to open the door from the inside pushing it against our backs, he later on joined by another one... we held the door, and the chains helped...they had no way out through our blockade. "I will call the police, you have to leave" - he screamed through the crack... the tiny one he managed to open. "This embassy is under non-violent siege, your government is responsible of war crimes and we are putting your property under siege" came the answer as we slipped him a flyer explaining the action and what his government was/is engaged in. American occupation troops were under taking attacks at the Fallujah hospital seizing it and blocking any medical aid to their victims, we were putting this embassy of war under our citizen arrest.

"Stop the killing in Fallujah" chant got louder and louder followed by "Blair is the terrorist", "Bush and Blair, Terrorists and murderers" and “silence is a crime”. Employees approached the door then left as it was explained to them that there is no way that we are letting them through. They went back to the security guard and waited for him to provide them with an alternative; at that moment we crossed our 20th minute. And NO the police were still not there. Take your time fellas, we aren't going anywhere, and if we did... we will be paying you repeated visits.

A "dedicated" (another word for dumb ass) employee did not want to enjoy the work-free time we provided and insisted on breaking through. We pushed against the door but with the help of three others and with painful pressure on M's arms and back against the door he was able to get in, but we managed to block his friend out.

There were people in the group who could not afford being arrested, either for other trials going on, or for being non-European citizens risking deportation and/ or prolonged arrest. Consensus was made that we will stay as long as possible and will leave once we milk their patience to the last drop avoiding arrest... we were a bit greedy, but who could resist the temptation. This was a piece of cake so far... we were laughing! "They could not be that stupid, we'll maybe they can.... actually they are!!!" Huh? No the ones at Gothenburg were different models, this time we got the non-violent dummies, we were lucky bastards and... enjoying it.

The woman was losing temper, and called her gang to bring the van... we were about to get a lift, and what is better than our favourite ole'time ride. At that time, the embassy was shut for an hour. We waited for ten more minutes, just till we saw the van approaching; we unlocked ourselves and stood up. The policewoman approached us saying that we cannot leave and we have to stay there as we got our chance and wasted it. By the time she finished her sentence most of us were on our way out, she stopped P. asking him for his ID since to her, he was the organiser. Of course, what do you expect from a cop-cup-copop-pop blaaaaah! Hey uniform freak, we have no organisers, we organise horizontally and we take no orders – though sometimes we do take prisoners!

“Were you at the American embassy as well today?” !!!!!!! What? What? Huh? Come again? There was something as well at the American embassy? Holly fuck! This is turning better and better, fuckristmass is coming earlier this year. Another group that we still have no clue who they are took action against the American embassy at the same time just few blocks away from us (according to the police). Seems the grassroots are spreading beyond control, and we are taking over.

We walked in and out like a knife cutting melting butter. This does not happen much, but it happens. Our noise can be loud, louder, and louderrrrrr. Targets that seemed unreachable can be closer than ever, we just have to have the imagination to think of it. Their stupidity is as deeply rooted as their brutality, and we will never quit. No arrests took place, and we are all safe and sound. Maybe because this is Sweden, maybe we were lucky... but surely this is not the finale.

We just started!

None of those supporting this bloody system will be safe and out of our reach. Not those killing the globe, nor those killing those who are trying to build another world through their direct actions and physical interventions. Haven't we proved yet that neither jails, nor court cases, nor cameras, nor batons, nor tear gas, nor rubber bullets, nor live ammunition, nor borders will silence us? And definitely not bloody nuclear- shit trains running over our bodies. Hey drivers of murder and terror, we will get you where ever you are no matter how fast your drive.

This was not meant as news, this is a call for further disobedience... Fallujah is still under attack - things do not look assuring... so are Iraq, Palestine, Colombia, indigenous people all over... the list runs longer than any report can cover. We have targets all around us, across our streets, in our towns and across state borders; even in our fridges and shopping carts. All it takes is few more steps... steps that are needed in a situation of life or death. So this is a call not only to copy this act, but also build upon it and develop it... who knows next time how long can we stay there.

This action is a minor one, paint is thrown at embassies all over the world in protest, blockades are being organized and activists are mobilizing, planning and taking action. Some already are in Iraq despite the threat of murder and kidnapping. Daher Jemail is back there, his reports can be found on  http://dahrjamailiraq.com/

let us spread the word... let us make some more tunes of dissent.

Trains are still running and fuckers in suits carrying champagne glasses are still muttering....

Any ideas for action?
